I hope you and your family are keeping well in these challenging times. Be assured of my prayers for you. In recent weeks, a number of public Masses have resumed in the parishes of our Pastoral Community; it has been heartening to welcome many of you back to the celebration of Mass.
You will know, and not be surprised to learn, that parish income during the period since March 23rd to the present, has taken a significant and devastating drop, which is understandable. Our Parish, like others across the Diocese and across Ireland, needs to make plans to recover from a steep decline in income since the start of 2020. Like households and families, we need to continue to meet essential expenditure. The parish income has decreased, but the bills keep coming in!
Therefore, I wish to make an appeal to those who are in a position to contribute to continue to offer financial assistance to support the Parish in these challenging times. That said, I am very aware of the pressures on family and personal incomes and budgets. I do not expect the impossible. As I launch this appeal, please know that I am asking you to do what you can within your circumstances and in the knowledge that every contribution, of whatever order, is most welcome. Your parish needs your support more than ever moving forward!
If Parishioners are in a financial position to do so, I would suggest that contributions can be made via
Standing Order – this is possible for anyone with an account at any bank or building society and the Post Office. If you would like to set up a Standing Order as a means of supporting your parish on a long-term basis, please click this link to download and complete the Standing Order Forms and return one to the parish office and one to your bank, as per the instructions.
For those who do not wish to set up a Standing Order, you can still contribute using your parish envelopes which can be dropped into the basket on the way out of Sunday Mass, or left in the parish office; or you can donate online by using the button below.
Thank you for your continued support of your Parish and your generosity to the many Priests who have passed through the Parish over the years. As we face the future together, we know there will be challenges and difficulties. There will be demands made on us all in planning for the future of our Parish, the Pastoral Community, the support of Priests and the Diocese of Down & Connor.
I do hope this information is of help and I will keep you updated with developments as information becomes available. As you know the situation is changing from week to week so what is set out above will be kept under constant review.
